About the project: Calm communication, even after divorce

ParentsHub came from a real problem: communication between divorced parents is often emotionally charged, and the children pay the price. The app helps keep the practical matters around the kids factual.

At its core is an AI layer (OpenAI) that detects a conflict-heavy or aggressive tone as a message is written and suggests a calmer phrasing, without changing the meaning. Plus a shared calendar and expense overview.

The challenge

A sensitive topic means high demands on tone and privacy. The AI must not censor content, only soften the form. It has to tell a factual disagreement apart from a personal attack and suggest an alternative the parent agrees with.

The solution

Technically I built it on Next.js and Supabase, with the AI filter sitting between writing and sending a message. The focus was on speed (the suggestion must appear instantly) and securely separating each parent's data.

The result

The result is a PWA that works on mobile and web and helps shift the tone of a conversation in real time. The goal is fewer conflicts and a calmer environment for the children.

The architecture allows adding more modules, such as shared documents or an agreement log, without touching the messaging core.
